Types of Low Carb Diets

Atkins: A four phased, low carb high fat diet created by Dr. Atkins in the 1970's. This type of diet is great because it allows for an easier transition from what you are eating to what you want to eat. Over the decades its produced a lot has been studied over the course of 5 decades and is still determined to be a effective way to loose weight. Looking up this diet can be confusing because Dr. Atkins created a brand to follow his diet strategy. So when researching this diet type you'll struggle to find things that aren't that brands but follow the diet if you don't want to buy their branded meal preps, cookbooks, etc. A reason one might not want the Atkins branded food is because they want more control over what goes into their food. For example, someone like a grapplers they might want to control their salt more then the Atkins diet accounts for. With that being said their website still makes a great resource.

Ketogenic Diet (Keto)

The goal is to keep your body in a state call ketosis which means your body is using its fat reserves as the power to run your body. The goal is to stay in ketosis for a majority of the day which mean no to little carbs every meal. The main difference between Paleo and Keto is your concentration of protein versus fats and you can eat things that have been man made. IF you do eat carbs while on the diet it doesn't mean you can't loose weight but your weight loss will be slower.
